When I bought this XT in spring 2004, it leak a little bit from an unknown cause.
First I replaced the gaskets in the covers of the valves and of the speedometer gear.
But it still leaked.
Then I changed the oil line. No improvement.
Then, after removing and investigating the cover of the cylinder head I found the reason:
The oil seal of the decompression cam was missing. After inserting everything was well.
In this occasion I installed the raceline dual oil line from HH, too.
The cable of the generator has touched the chain: One line cut through and one damaged.
